Mighty Ape has adopted two orangutans!

Company

Add a comment By Che

It's no secret that we have a special place for apes and monkeys in our heart. We are Mighty Ape after all. We recently adopted two orangutans, named Happi and Popi, through The Orangutan Project.

The Orangutan Project is a charity that supports orphaned orangutans living in rescue and rehabilitation centres in Borneo and Sumatra. All of the adoption money raised by The Orangutan Project goes directly to helping orphans at care centres and providing opportunities for a safe return to the wild.

If you'd like to join us in supporting these beautiful creatures swing by The Orangutan Project's website for details on how to donate to the cause or adopt an orangutan.

We all have mothers, sisters, daughters and other women in our life that we couldn't imagine losing, but with a disease like Breast Cancer claiming the lives of over 600 women each year in New Zealand alone, chances are we'll all know someone diagnosed sooner or later.

All proceeds from the sale of this rig will be going to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation to give them more ammo for their arsenal in the fight against Breast Cancer.

Introduction of $10 minimum order value

Company

Add a comment By Che

As part of Mighty Ape’s commitment to being an environmentally sustainable e-commerce store we have decided to introduce a minimum order value of $10 (excluding shipping) on all orders.

Mighty Ape is a delivery business, which means every order contains additional packaging materials, is driven by courier, and in many cases flown by plane. This all adds up to have an impact on the environment. Implementing a minimum order value is an effective tool that will assist us in reducing the volume of small deliveries that go out each day. This will help us to reduce the packaging use and carbon footprint of small orders, and also encourages more sustainable shopping habits.

We do appreciate that this may be an inconvenience for some customers but we believe that the benefits of this small change outweigh the negatives. If you are intending to order a number of items we encourage you to consider consolidating them into one order. If you're not ready to group items together so they exceed $10 you can also use the Wish List feature so that you can place the order at your convenience. This will assist us in our effort to reduce our impact on the environment.

Please note that orders for digital products, such as electronic gift vouchers and Primate subscriptions, will be unaffected by this policy. You can still place orders for digital products below $10 as normal. Marketplace orders are also unaffected by this policy.
