With close to a hundred responses, we had some fun reading through them all, and a lot of them were pretty darn unbelievable.

You never know when an unbelievable moment is going to happen, whether it's that successful run to take down a boss or a crazy by-the-seat-of-your-pants take down in multiplayer.
Regardless, when the moment comes, you want to be able to tell your friends and have them believe you… so why not show them?
The Elgato Game Capture HD60 device does exactly what it says. Simply hook it up between your video output and display and you're ready to go.

During the latter part of June we ran a competition to win 1 of 3 Elgato Game Capture HD devices. To enter you had to post a pic or screenshot of your gaming setup, benchmark scores or gameplay.

With all this game cappin' hard drive space might be a concern and rather than open up the mac and pop something bigger in you can now get really really fast external drives that can store the files and transfer them quickly.
WD Passport PRO is the best, with enough space and speed to feel confident about capturing 4K when next gen game capture hits us :)
Powered directly through the thunderbolt ports on MacBooks, the Passport Pro even has the essential cable attached to the drive keeping things very tidy and best of all making sure I don't lose it!
It's brutally fast, as you would expect – exceeding 230MB per second in tests with the 2GB version & the Passport Pro even comes in a MASSIVE 4TB version, and still without the need for a wall adaptor!

We've asked you to show us your gaming zone to win an Elgato Game Capture HD. Now it wouldn't be right if we didn't show you ours!
We currently use three AOC Slim Monitors with the dual HDMI making it easy to swap rigs in and out while we get them ready to ship out. We are always glad to have them and they look pretty sweet with the slim frame and brushed aluminum finish.
And to make things even better SteelSeries just gave us some pretty cool new gear to add to our gaming * cough cough * I mean testing area at Mighty Ape HQ :)

Last month we started a competition Elgato game capture devices in which we asked you guys to send us your coolest custom avatars for a chance to win one of three Elgato game capture devices. The response was fantastic and we've had an absolute tonne of wonderful entries (and some rather disturbing entries too! :P).
Picking our three winners was no easy feat, so we decided to see what some of the monkeys in the office thought. After much discussion and back and forth we finally settled on three fine entries from Jordan Macdonald, Andy Burt and Ben Travia. We'll be in touch shortly to arrange getting your prizes shipped! A little over a week ago, we started an Elgato competition in which we asked you fine folks to send us your favourite gaming avatars. The entries so far have been excellent but we have not yet picked our first winner. We want to give you guys a chance to use this weekend to really blow us away.
We've had a tonne of fantastic entries already but still need you guys to put on your creative hats and show us your best work. Check out Louise's awesome Minecraft avatar! Soooooo cute! Or how about the great Elisa ‘Elsinore’ Norman Agent of the Illuminati in ‘The Secret World’ from our buddy Andy. Very sharp! Simon has also been busy with this great World of Warcraft character. That's some very cool armour!
