The Elgato Avea Dynamic Mood Light is one of the coolest smart phone controlled light bulbs we've had the pleasure of playing with. Set up is simple, screw in your bulb, download the app and you're all set for awesome mood lighting!
Avea connects directly to your iPhone or iPad using Bluetooth Smart technology. There are a bunch of preset dynamic light moods and you can control the ambience from your iPhone and iPad (or even your shiny new Apple Watch!)

I'd put in my man 'man cave' and use it to create a lightshow while I practice guitar
I would install it in our apartments lounge, we live in direct line of sight of the sky tower and they are constantly putting on a light show for us, show offs! I would love to be able to return the favor and freak people out who are in the revolving restaurant or on the look out to see our apartment glowing!
I'd install it at work. I work with people with vision impairments and they would love to be able to try out adjustable lighting like the Elgato Avea before buying - and since most have iPhones (they have magnification and speech built-in) these lights would be perfect.

I'd put two more in the back of my games room lighting the pool table and the back wall of the room :)
in the bathroom. i think having this on while you're taking a shower would be quite interesting for some reason.

I would put this near my bedroom because I never have a good lighting when I read my book before going to bed. It's either too bright or too dim. This high tech gizmo, might do the trick :D And I didn't even know that Elgato makes light bulbs! Very cool :D
I would put in my man cave, well boy cave really because I'm only 12 I'd love this!!!
I'd also put it in the toilet to change the light when someone's in there
