"A Diary With A Difference."
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Known for their cliché rockstar lifestyles, Mötley Crüe bassist, Nikki Sixx shares a years worth of diary entries during his dark days of heroin and cocaine addiction. Apart from learning all about the addictions and effects they had on Nikki, you get a better understanding of what went on behind closed doors in the lives of the Crüe (even though most could take an educated guess). Throughout the year the book deals with all the ups and downs of his life and the grueling process of quitting his habits. If you enjoy auto biographies or simply love your rock and roll, this is a must read. 5 Stars.

"Different"

Part diary, possibly part summary, a strange read about the depressing and tedious existance of Nikki Sixx during his heaviest year of addiction. If you are looking for the sex & rock and roll stories of Motley Crue, you'll be dissapointed. This is pretty much all about the drugs and s their effects on Nikki' and his relationships with the band and others in 1987. I was left feeling somewhat indifferent about the whole thing and I am a Crue fan. But if you want an insight into the warped world of heroin ( and just about everything else) addiction. Give the Heroin Diaries a try.

"Read it once, Loved it, Want It!"
5 stars"

I got this book off a friend for a lil while, it's amazing. Although most of the material was already common knowledge, it was awesome to read nikki sixx's perspective on things, and understand what he went through and how it affected Motley Crue. Absolutely Amazing. Totally Reccomended.

Description

Set against the frenzied world of heavy metal superstardom, the co-founder of legendary Motley Crue offers an unflinching and gripping look at his own descent into drug addiction. When Motley Crue were at the height of their fame, there wasn't a drug Nikki Sixx wouldn't do. He spent days - sometimes alone, sometimes with others addicts, friends and lovers - in a coke- and heroin-fuelled daze.

THE HEROIN DIARIES reveals Nikki's personal diary entries alongside commentary from the people who know Nikki best including band mates Tommy, Vince and Mick. The book is a candid look at a nightmare come true: a punishing heroin addiction that brought Nikki to the edge of losing his talent, his career, his family and finally to a near-fatal overdose which left him clinically dead for a few minutes before being revived. Brutally honest, utterly riveting and shockingly moving, THE HEROIN DIARIES follows Nikki during the year he plunged to rock bottom and his courageous decision to pick himself up and start living again.
