Part diary, possibly part summary, a strange read about the depressing and tedious existance of Nikki Sixx during his heaviest year of addiction. If you are looking for the sex & rock and roll stories of Motley Crue, you'll be dissapointed. This is pretty much all about the drugs and s their effects on Nikki' and his relationships with the band and others in 1987. I was left feeling somewhat indifferent about the whole thing and I am a Crue fan. But if you want an insight into the warped world of heroin ( and just about everything else) addiction. Give the Heroin Diaries a try.
I got this book off a friend for a lil while, it's amazing. Although most of the material was already common knowledge, it was awesome to read nikki sixx's perspective on things, and understand what he went through and how it affected Motley Crue. Absolutely Amazing. Totally Reccomended.
Nikki Sixx really takes you into his own dark world with this read and it really gives you an insight into his life then. The layout of the book is clever and attractive (song lyrics and pictures and drawings). One of those books that you have to be in the right mind set to read it otherwise it brings your mood down to what he was feeling and describing in the book.
