Description

This book systematically summarizes the advanced development of carbon-based nanomaterials for electrochemical catalysis, and it is comprised of four sections. The first section discusses about the fundamental synthesis, characterization techniques, and catalytic effects on the energy conversion and storage mechanism. The second section elaborately reviews various types of electrocatalytic reactions on carbon-based materials and their performance. The third section focuses on batteries about carbon-based materials with different storage mechanism. And the last one, the following enlightenment in terms of theoretical development and experimental research is provided to the general readers: 1) Precise design and construction of local atomic and electronic structures at the interface of catalysts; 2) Selective activation and directed conversion of carbon-based energy-carrying molecules at the interface; 3) Interaction mechanism and regulation of catalyst solid surface interfaceproperties under environment and external field. This book will be useful for researchers and students who are interested in carbon-based nanomaterials, electrochemical catalysts and energy storage.

Author Biography:

Jia-Nan Zhang is a Professor of Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou, China. She was awarded the 2018 "Yangtze River Scholars Youth Award Program" of Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, the "Central Plains Thousand Talents Program" of Henan Province, and Henan Provincial Department of Education's high-tech innovation talents. She received her B.S. (2005) and Ph.D. (2010) degrees in State Key Laboratory of Inorganic Synthesis & Preparative Chemistry from Jilin University supervised by Profs. Ruren Xu and Jihong Yu. From 2008 to 2009, she has been to Oak Ridge National Laboratory at U.S.A. as a visitor researcher for one year. In 2019, she continued her research work in National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) of Japan as an academic visitor. At present, her research interest majors in "The preparation and application of low-cost carbon-based composite energy storage and conversion materials". (1) low-cost energy conversion and storage technology; (2) confinement engeering of carbon-based electrocatalyst design; (3) Mechanism of the electrocatalytic process in energy conversion. Since joining the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Zhengzhou University in 2010, she has published more than 50 SCI indexed papers on in Nat. Commun., Adv. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., ACS Nano, Adv. Funct. Mater., Adv. Sci., J. Catal., which are cited more than 3000 times. She has been invited to report more than 10 times at international and domestic professional conferences, and served as the vice chairperson of the conference and the chairperson of the branch venue for 4 times. She also attend the youth editorial board of Chemical Research in Chinese Univers ities and InfoMat.
