Jackson loves and looks up to his grandfather, Papa, and he was worried about Paper had life-changing surgery and had to recover from it. Jackson visits Papa in the hospital and then he travels to Augusta, Georgia to visit him for a week. They do different activities together, like watching TV and eating dinner, and the trip means so much more to Jackson than he could ever realize. Jackson gets the chance to learn about his family history, connect with the older generation of his family, and appreciate the time he has with his loved ones. After he leaves Papa's house, Jackson thinks about how his week with Papa is more than a trip but a lifelong memory he will cherish forever. A Week with Papa invites readers to enjoy and reflect on what it means to support your family the best way you can, at any age.

Author Biography:

Matthew Miller is an 11-year-old student residing in Atlanta, Georgia. A lover of music, Matthew is very active in his church community as a member of the Children’s Choir. He is also a Webelos in Boy Scouts, and in school he is a member of the National Beta Club. He is a devoted Braves fan and grew up going to Braves games ever since he was a baby. Matthew enjoys listening to music, especially the Sunday Service Choir, spending time with his family, and helping train his new dog Jaxon. Young Authors Publishing is a children’s book publisher that exists to share the stories of Black & Brown children. We believe that all kids are story-worthy and should see themselves reflected in the books they read. We also believe in writing our future, which is why we publish books that reflect how diverse our world is. Our two-part mission is to produce diverse and culturally relevant children's books and to use book publishing as a vehicle to economic mobility for our young authors. Royalties from their book sales are deposited into our authors' savings accounts for their post-secondary plans.
