Description

Nick plays basketball and football, but when he’s injured in a game, it looks like he might not be able to play either sport ever again. Nick learns that one of his sports heroes overcame a bad injury, and went on to play in the NBA again. This is the motivation Nick needs to try and overcome his own setback. Through hard work and training, Nick gets back into shape again. But is it enough to get him back on the basketball team?

Author Biography:

Nicholas Dozier is a twelve-year-old student at Hollis Innovation Academy. He enjoys playing basketball on the Ice Atlanta team and making people laugh. He thinks of himself as sort of a comic because his jokes come naturally. In the future he hopes to attend college and get his degree. However, his main goal is to play professional basketball in the NBA. He would first like to play for the Atlanta Hawks as a point guard. He would also like to build more schools in his community so that children can have safe environments to learn. He wants to make sure future students have a better school environment than he had. Young Authors Publishing is a nonprofit children's book publisher that exists to share the stories of children. We believe that all kids are story worthy and that every child should see themselves and their experiences reflected in the books they read. Our two-part mission is to produce diverse and culturally relevant children's books and to use book publishing as a vehicle to economic mobility for our young authors. Royalties from their book sales are deposited into a savings account for each young author to access at 18 to use toward their post-secondary plans.
