So glad IÂ managed to find a copy of this cult comedy classic. Richard E Grant is superb as the perpetually drunk wannabe actor and this film was the launchpad for his brilliant career. His piercing blue eyes lend themselves well to the role of the slightly crazed Withnail, and the story has not lost any of its offbeat charm over the years. Great film for anyone who enjoys the wry, observant, and sardonic nature of great British black humour. Hilarious!
I first saw this film back in the early nineties I , Never forgot it and decided to try and find a copy .after watching it I will give it to my brother for his Birthday.I have read where this now has a large following of young people . Its a classic , so funny , so typical of London in the 60s. A must especially if you were a part of the 60s and 70s.
