Description

Volume 2 includes 2 complete original novels of the Legend Series: "Across the Second Dead Line" and "Unfinished Business."Inspired by actual events that occurred during the Gold Rush era, the Legend Series is a captivating saga of gold and silver miners basking in the prosperity of success, while fighting to survive in a wild and dangerous environment. Nearly seven decades after the mining has played out, a remnant of a ghost town is discovered by a curious college student; he uncovers secrets that have been well-guarded by an unseen force known only as "Mack." The mystery grows into a tangled mind game. Not until the 21st Century is the puzzle finally solved by three enterprising young adventurers who have only two old journals found in an attic to connect the past with the present, and to discover one secret much grander than anyone could imagine.

Author Biography:

Born into a farm family in the late 1940s, J.L. Fredrick lived his youth in rural Western Wisconsin, a modest but comfortable life not far from the Mississippi River. His father was a farmer, and his mother, an elementary school teacher. He attended a one-room country school for his first seven years of education. Wisconsin has been home all his life, with exception of a few years in Minnesota and Florida. After college in La Crosse, Wisconsin and a stint with Uncle Sam during the Viet Nam era, the next few years were unsettled as he explored and experimented with life's options. He entered into the transportation industry in 1975 where he remained until retirement in 2012 Since 2001 he has thirteen published novels to his credit, and one non-fiction history volume, Rivers, Roads, & Rails. He was a featured author during Grand Excursion 2004. J.L. Fredrick is currently exploring the U.S. in an RV.
