Description

Among the many inventors and engineers who have shaped our world, few have been as farsighted or revolutionary as the genius of the Italian Renaissance, Leonardo da Vinci. This beautifully illustrated book brings to life Leonardo's incredible technological marvels for a new generation of inquisitive readers. Bright young minds will have no trouble understanding the technical details of his designs, thanks to the clear pictures and simple, easy-to-follow language. - Explore Leonardo's life story, his years spent doodling sketches of early versions of the parachute, helicopter, diving suit, machine-gun, self-driving car and many more. - Take a tour through the other achievements of this great polymath, his work in mathematics, anatomy, astronomy, geology and civil engineering, not to mention his world famous paintings. - Uncover the world in which Leonardo lived, find out how his ideas were received, and how they influenced both contemporary and later scientists and inventors. Readers aged 8+ will be drawn in by the lavish illustrations of Paula Zamudio, featured throughout. ABOUT THE SERIES The Arcturus Genius Ideas series introduces children to ground-breaking scientific theories from some of history's greatest minds, brought to life by delightful, full-color illustrations.
