Author Biography:

Joseph Rudyard Kipling was the first English writer to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. Kipling was born on December 30, 1865, in Bombay, India, to a British family. He is best known for his poems and stories set in India during the period of the British imperial rule. His best works are The Jungle Book and Kim as well as numerous poems. By now Kipling has become an immensely popular writer and poet for children and adults.
