SOUTH VIETNAM:
18th AUGUST 1966 In the gathering dusk, 108 young and inexperienced Australian and New Zealand soldiers were separated and surrounded by an overwhelming force of more than 2,500 battle hardened Viet Cong guerrillas and North Vietnamese soldiers. They bravely fought for their lives in the pouring rain amid the mud and shattered landscape of a rubber plantation called Long Tan.

The war was brought right to Sydney’s doorstep in May 1942 when the Japanese launched a surprise submarine attack. Many of the details and theories of this important wartime episode have remained shrouded in mystery until now.
