More predictable, and also more consistent, than the first season, this is more (or ever so slightly less) of the same. Billie Piper continues to be excellent, though her pregnancy here is more noticeable than I suspect the production team would like. Highlights of this season include racist and ableist remarks which, refreshingly, are neither used thoughtlessly nor as setups for trite TV moralising. The main character continues to be flawed, sometimes displaying a wonderful maturity and insight into humanity, and sometimes making real whopper-sized mistakes. Overall, very enjoyable, but not as good as the first series and liable to leave you scratching your head in places as loose threads aren't tied off and props and ideas from earlier episodes aren't picked up again when they would work.
