Am always on the lookout for a cat scratcher that's big enough for my adult cat to utilize with her back claws, that doesn't tip over easily, isn't a eyesore, and doesn't break the bank – a tall order but this one ticks all the boxes. My 16 y/o cat is naturally smaller and roughly 3.3kg but she ran at the post during zoomies and it barely moved, climbed up it enough to get her back claws in the post and it didn't tip over and the ball on the end didn't break when she tried to pull it off. The post is great as a square because I could rotate it if she typically climbs one side. Weighing about 5kg, the post appears to have a wide enough base to survive being tilted a fair distance before it would actually fall which is good because with a wooden top on my hardwood floor it would make a heck of a bang. Easy to put together, though the base screws into a type of reinforced particle board before going into the post and I did get a bit of a splinter so handle with care initially. All in all am considering buying a second to put into storage for when this one dies because the search is finally over!
