Description

We are all on a journey. The pathway of our sojourn will contain difficult climbs, easy downhills, uneven surfaces, obstacles blocking the paths and many turns that obscure the future, evoking confusion, and fear. Betty Campbell has walked the pathways of life, filled with perils, and promise of the journey. She has faced the loss of her mother and other family members from childhood and endured physical and mental abuse. Broken and empty, her journey took a detour into a time in the sex industry. Overcoming setback after setback, personally and financially, drove her to a failed suicide attempt. Hitting rock bottom became a place to rise again, only to be blind-sided with fighting side by side with her husband, best friend and soul mate, a losing battle with terminal cancer. She courageously exposes her own life in an effort to remind others that no matter what the journey brings, even when the path diverges into unknown territory, and the path ahead is hidden, we are not alone. Her story that nearly ended in taking her own life, and literally getting run over by a truck, is not over. Her time in the sex industry fueled her desire to create a nonprofit that provides love, services, and hope for those who are walking where she walked. Her message to other cancer families, widows and orphans is that you are not alone...you are valued. She understands abuse, trauma bonding, and struggling as a single mother. Her heart is one of compassion and hope as one who has walked this way before, and who are just around the corner. Betty serves as a pastor, speaker, and panelist for various trafficking boards and business groups, including Successful Community Engagement, Starting the Conversation about DMST Awareness with Shared Hope. This incredible story reminds the reader that God is always there and seeks to have relationship with each of us and give us perfect peace. Betty proves to be a light in the darkness to those who are struggling, and a guide on our journeys...in His hands.
