Description

Literacy in Context for AQA A has been written for the new AQA GCSE English and English Literature specification A. It includes a wide variety of lively and accessible texts, including a range of media and non-fiction material, as well as fiction, drama and selected poems from the AQA Anthology. The book is divided into units which can be studied in any order. Units follow a regular pattern: students read a text of a particular type, analyse its distinctive features through a series of linked activities, then tackle an exam-style writing task. There is a strong focus on comparing texts, as required by the AQA specifications. Tasks are differentiated - with support for students studying at Foundation tier and extension activities for those at Higher tier. Each unit includes a step-by-step guide to tackling exam questions and coursework assignments, written by an experienced senior examiner.
