The comic trials and tribulations of a group of retired friends based in a West Yorkshire village, Last of the Summer Wine celebrates another vintage year as the world’s longest running sitcom. With Foggy now departed to pastures new, the beautiful Yorkshire Dales welcomes a new face in the form of Seymour Utterthwaite, a former headmaster and amateur inventor. Seymour’s masterpieces including a state of-the-art waste disposal system, a new ‘gentleman’s’ purse and a rather worrying ejector-seat, all requiring the services of a willing volunteer to road test them. But when Compo steps forward disaster is not far behind. All thirty series of the immortal Last of Summer Wine were penned by Roy Clarke (Open All Hours, Keeping Up Appearances) who in 2002 was presented with an OBE by Prince Charles. Series 9 and 10 stars Bill Owen, Peter Sallis and Michael Aldridge.
