Description

Mentors are a rich source of knowledge to the young and those eager to learn. Yet, Western society has lost the art of preparing adults to mentor those who are in their sphere of influence. When they are asked to mentor a young man or young woman, even for a day, some adults shrink back from the unknown. This book answers the questions of "What should I do when I spend time with a young person for a one-day job shadow or mentor experience?" and "How should I prepare for the day?" With years of experience in working with adults to mentor children, author Craig Thompson guides you step-by-step in your preparation in order to make your mentoring session both enjoyable and effectual.

Author Biography:

Craig Thompson lives in Tennessee with his wife and family. He has spoken to audiences and groups across five continents on a variety of topics including leadership training, biblical knowledge and family life. His current focus involves mentoring and life development for the next generations. In 2010, Craig pioneered the 52 Godly Men and 52 Godly Women projects with his own children. In 2017, he launched The Mentoring Revolution, a mentoring curriculum for churches and community small groups which is designed to provide an easy-to-use framework for intergenerational training. Eric Whitaker is a lifelong IT professional who currently serves as the middle school pastor at his local church. He has also served as a chaplain with the local juvenile detention program.
