I'm not sure why I expected different but the tray is very plastic. The mechanism is not as smooth opening and closing as I thought however that may possibly be due to me over tightening I'm unsure. The clamps however are very solid and the item is easy to assemble, coming from someone terrible at that. Its easy to add to a good sized solid desk and I think a better option than buying a smaller flimsy desk stand to put in under the big desk which was my other consideration. The wrist rest part of the pull out tray is helpful because I tend to get pain in my wrists when typing due to not lifting my wrists up high enough. Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase and for the price I feel it does the job decently.
