Winning reelection by the slightest of margins once more, he found himself struggling with Katrina and a failing financial system. When he left office, the economy was in shambles and the future seemed less than certain for the country. In his retirement, Bush has proven to be a sure and calming voice when he has chosen to speak publicly. History will have to be the final judge of his leadership.

Author Biography:

Keith Pruitt has been fascinated with Presidents since elementary school years. Over the years from his beginning of this project in 1980 while a college student, Pruitt has traveled widely to all but four Presidential graves, to all the libraries, to many of their homes and has done extensive research on each man who has served as President. He is the author of numerous volumes on Presidents including Hail to the Chief. This is his 38th published book.
