Description

Ever After / Never Been Kissed (2 Disc)

Ever After:

This updated adaptation of the classic fairytale tells the story of Danielle (Drew Barrymore), a vibrant young woman who is forced into servitude after the death of her father. Danielle's stepmother Rodmilla (Anjelica Huston) is a heartless woman who forces Danielle to do the cooking and cleaning, while she tries to marry off her own two daughters. But Danielle's life takes a wonderful turn when she meets the charming Prince Henry (Dougray Scott).

Critic Reviews:

  • " Drew Barrymoore and Dougray Scott have great chemistry together. " – Rachel Wagner
  • " Charming take on Cinderella tale has strong heroine. " – S. Jhoanna Robledo
  • " A delightful movie, full of feisty, three-dimensional characters romping through comedy, romance and otherwise gloriously colorful moments. " – Jeffrey M. Anderson

Never Been Kissed:

Josie Geller (Drew Barrymore), a baby-faced junior copywriter at the Chicago Sun-Times, must pose as a student at her former high school to research contemporary teenage culture. With the help of her brother, Rob (David Arquette), Josie infiltrates the inner circle of the most popular clique on campus. But she hits a major snag in her investigation – not to mention her own failed love life – when she falls for her dreamy English teacher, Sam Coulson (Michael Vartan).

Critic Reviews:

  • " Never Been Kissed remains one of the best teen movies and romcoms of the '90s, and a true ode to nerdy, overly enthusiastic girls of all ages. " – Chelsea Steiner
  • " [B]y and large she generates the kind of charm that, since Scream and Everyone Says I Love You, she's made her trademark. " – Andrew Pulver
  • " [T]hanks to Barrymore's captivating performance, a fun turn from David Arquette (as her slightly odd older brother) and a minor role for Leelee Sobieski, this is enjoyable fare. " – Jo Berry
