October in Dutch Harbor means only one thing: king crab season, and a chance to bring home the big bucks. With Bering Sea weather reports warning of some of the roughest conditions seen in years, a massive storm system is moving in, threatening to wreak havoc on the crabbing fleet. With last season’s tragedy of the ‘Big Valley’ still a sobering reminder of the danger the crews face every day, the captains must decide whether to shove off, or batten down the hatches and weather the intense fury of nature in their quest for a lucrative underwater jackpot.
