I think of this as a technical showcase for Blu-Ray and High Definition. The picture is supremely clean and extremely detailed, picking up the most minute details and displaying them effortlessly.
I would probably best describe it as the opposite of the Planet Earth Blu-Ray. Where the Planet Earth Blu-Ray offers supreme picture quality and narrative showcasing the beauty of nature and the earth with just epic shots captured on film, Baraka is a lot more intimate.
There is no narrator or voice over in the film, its a look more so towards the culture and lifestyle of people on the planet, religions, beliefs, war etc. It doesn't impress on a scale the size of Planet Earth but something much more closer to home and more of an intimate look at how the people of earth, different cultures, religions, get on in their every day lives, the backbone of our society.
