Amiable, like a fable, animal characters present a historic view of migrating and settling in a new country. The main character is mousy number 5 named Fievel. I like that it has traits of Fiddler on the Roof and indestructible good will. It is musical, honourably funny and so good I forget it is an animation. Good to see it!
The classic 80's childhood cartoon musical we all remember. Suitable for the more jaded cartoon consumer (i.e. ages 8+), the violence and moral shadow of the first film would not make an enjoyable viewing for toddlers.
I remember watching this over and over as I grew up, and not once do I remember being able to hold back tears.
