Description

Join Little Sis and her big brother Buddy for a summer of adventure and growing up. A series of 26 wonderfully detailed drawings illustrate a 26 chapter storybook, and collectively tell the tale of the Adventures with the Country Cousins. (31 Drawings to Color including bonus pages) Growing up in the city is having a questionable influence on 10 year Buddy, so his parents send him, and his "Little Sis" to visit their country cousins, Uncle Roy, Aunt Rosie, and their kids Lucy and Ernie, on a farm for the summer. Here, they will learn about their proud family history, learn the care and feeding of the farm animals, and make plenty of new friends. Sis meets a real "Mother Goose," and helps give new life and purpose to an aging "Horsey" named Brandy. She feeds chickens and gathers eggs, learns about the foods in "The Veggie Garden" and even enters a "Watermelon" eating contest at the fair. Bud learns what COOL really is, and a piglet named Peaches teaches him that responsibility IS cool, and rewarding too. Perfect for all ages! Recommended reading level, 4th grade & above.

Author Biography:

Sue Curry was born in West Australia and came to America with her war bride mother and US Navy father. Raised in Southern California, she later married Pastor Ed Curry and currently lives in the agricultural area of Selma, California. Curious about the region and history of the valley and the many old farms, Sue began doing research which was inspired by her own family history and that of her husband who was raised as a dairyman's son. Sue's books reach back to her childhood and a simpler life style. 'Living On Memory Lane' take you back to the early 1900's and the life of a farmer, his wife and children. Through the stories for each picture, you are inspired to color the scenes. 'The Adventures of Little Sister' lets you see life as it was, when Sue and her sisters were growing up in the 1950's and 60's. Each drawing to color has a story to explain the scene. Adventures with the Country Cousins, takes the reader out of the realm of the Artists memory and into the world of her pure creative imagination, in her first fictional Coloring Book and Storybook combination, and the many stories of the life and times of those who live on "Memory Lane." Sue's books are suitable for children of all ages from 9 to 99.
