"Good trash"

With a name like ‘Zombie Strippers’ you have to know there will be nudity and it's not going to be a serious movie. This is a funny trashy rubbish movie that's just fun to watch.

The story line is that a secret government lab has an outbreak that gets contained to an underground strip club where the zombie strippers end up making more tips than the others, and thus we have conflict.

I think this is a great movie if you realise it's got very budget storyline and acting. It's good fun and I love telling people that I have seen it.

"Promises schlock and delivers in spades"
4 stars"

The cover of this thing is not lying to you. It promises nudity and gore and goes right ahead and delivers it with relish from go to wo. Of course the acting is bad and the script even worse but that would only matter if it skimped on the nudity and gore which it doesn't for a second. Jenna Jameson is surprisingly good and the supporting strippers are great eye candy and seem to be having a great time. This is a crazy movie that is never less than fun. Great to see Robert Englund too. Best served with beer, pizza and a side order of Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror for the ultimate schlock double feature.

"What you see is what you get. And more!"

First, I must say that you should not watch this movie expecting an Oscar-winning piece of celluloid magic. It is designed as a B-movie and it plays that role perfectly, no surprises here. The surprise that comes with this movie is that it's filled to the brim with the one thing you wouldn't expect in a movie titled Zombie Strippers: intelligent comedy. From intentional continuity and plot holes that take a stab at the trash spun out of Hollywood, to the contrast of the low grade movie style with the use of Nietzsche works (in a joking manner that never seems to take itself seriously, like the rest of this movie!!!!), to the plain blunt comedy and absurdity of every second of this movie from start to finish. This movie has managed to take the single worst plot concept ever published (perhaps except for Snakes on a Plane?) and create one of the most intelligently witty and enjoyable movies in recent history.

The smarter, more sophisticated audience I show this movie to, the more they appreciate it. Anyone who tells you this movie is anything along the lines of “low class, stupid, etc” simply lacks the ability or willingness to appreciate it for what it actually is.

This movie has become one of my all time favourite movies of the zombie-comedy genre, and I would suggest it to anybody who can see past its guise as a B-movie. Just remember that this movie never takes itself seriously, and everything in it is intentional. Watch it expecting this and you will NOT be disappointed!

Critic Reviews:

  • " This movie is like some kind eruption from the dark heart of pop culture and intellectual culture at once, a meditation on female sexual conformity that nevertheless shoves boobies in our faces. " – Annalee Newitz
  • " Enjoyable horror comedy that delivers on the promise of the title, aided by some decent effects and a witty script. " – Matthew Turner
  • " It's cleverly done with lots of nods to other zombie films. You'll probably catch it on DVD " – Victor Olliver
