From 1998 until 2004 Kenneth Fenter and his wife Lora crisscrossed America in a Motor home. They often stopped in Truck stops and met the big rigs on the highway, tipping hats and waving as they passed. Much of the inspiration for this book comes from those seven years, and a curiosity about the men who drove those semi-trucks. Another impetus was a childhood attempt to raise a found fledgling magpie and to teach it to talk. From that came the fascination of the family of birds that encompasses the jays, crows and ravens. To a minor extent this book is about my interest in the role the right and left side of the brain plays on our personalities insight, and ability to function.
