Description

This novel is about working off the left and right side of the brain. It is also about Platonic Love. It employs an ancient literary device, the Greek Chorus. The chorus in this case are the ravens and crows that proliferate both the Northwest as well as well as the lower 48 states. The Corvid family of birds are known to have the highest intelligence of all non-human life with the ability to replicate human speech and use human phrases appropriately. They have an extensive vocabulary, assist each other, have a complex social order, mate for life, and have been observed to destroy unfaithful mates. In this novel they observe and comment as the story unfolds. Audra is highly left brain dominant, the side of the brain that is analytical, and can grasp philosophical concepts such as Platonic Love. Zane is equally highly right brain dominant, the side of the brain that is intuitive, learns by practice, and sees things in black and white. Can their marriage survive.

Author Biography:

From 1998 until 2004 Kenneth Fenter and his wife Lora crisscrossed America in a Motor home. They often stopped in Truck stops and met the big rigs on the highway, tipping hats and waving as they passed. Much of the inspiration for this book comes from those seven years, and a curiosity about the men who drove those semi-trucks. Another impetus was a childhood attempt to raise a found fledgling magpie and to teach it to talk. From that came the fascination of the family of birds that encompasses the jays, crows and ravens. To a minor extent this book is about my interest in the role the right and left side of the brain plays on our personalities insight, and ability to function. Kenneth Fenter, author of eight novels, three non-fiction books, and a short story anthology. He writes about what he has experienced or observed. From childhood he had been involved in a cross cultural environment. His books also reflect that.
