"Atleast 30 hours of you enjoying the combat"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This game is all about the combat and gameplay, in short it's very enjoyable. The dodge and parry combat system allows you to dish out unbelievable amounts of damage and rewards player skill. The story however, to put it simply was lack luster compared to the enjoyment you get from the combat aspects of the game. If I were to compare the combat to any other game it would have to be Zelda Breath of the Wild.

"Rich in content, characters, exploration and more!"
5 stars"

I'm currently 40 hours in and this game has already exceeded my expectations and I am no where near finished. I have never played a game from the YS series before so I was excited to give it a go! I was and still am, amazed with how rich the in-game world was, packed with side-quests and all sorts of different enemies that all have different strengths and weaknesses. The locations are all beautifully designed and the characters are a cute, interesting and mysterious. Just what I expect from a JRPG. Whether or not this game is for you, is for you to decide, but I personally would not shove this game to the side just because one person did not like it. Give it a try, because you might end up enjoying it!

"Great Action JRPG"
4 stars"

Ys series is like the Tales of Series or Star Ocean when it comes to combat but at times it more rewarding learning to block and dodge with perfect timing as well as aerial combat which wasn't in the previous games. Falcom OST is amazing just like their previous Ys games as well as Legend of Heroes series. YsVIII is good if you want a good action and a easier story to understand JPRG and Legend of Heroes is a good Turn Based game with amazing story as well as world building. Only thing that drags the game down is the translation in places are really bad but NIS is hoping to improve it. 8.5/10
