Played the demo from the PSN store, although graphics are slightly below par the game makes up for this in dynamic, visceral and raw fighting mechanics which really make you feel as though you're Logan. Would def be a great game to rent, but I'd put off buying it till the price dipped a bit.

Although video games based on movies don't turn out very well, here's one to keep the skeptics quiet.

To start off, I'm by no means a fan of comics or X-Men but after watching the movie for this game, I was surprisingly interested and here's why:

The game takes place in various landscapes and environments ranging from lush jungle scenes to technological bases to the artic tundra, either way, enemies are numerous. The levels are a solid length – not short or long but rather perfect much like Uncharted. With the levels comes enemies varying in size, shape and form. There are the standard gunners, machete swordsmen, large beast-like creatures known as Leviathans and powerful W.E.N.D.I.G.O pro­totypes – massive, brutish ogres.

The graphics are great but in comparison with newer games, its not that spectacular. The waterfalls, combat filled with blood and gore is well executed and will amaze you as you dismember enemies and leave their body parts scattered. The foliage of the jungles and detail of the facilities are very well done with machines, levers, space-age monitors and sewers all thoroughly designed.

Combat is absolutely phenomenal. The basic moves are fantastic and alone will keep you entertained, of course there's Wolve­rine's Lunge ability, you can pick up and throw enemies off cliffs similar to God of War, slam enemies with heavy attacks AND extra abilities by holding R2 and then selecting one of the 4 buttons to do special abilities such as Berserk mode and Claw Drill.

Health can be regenerated and “Rage” is boosted when you kill enemies or break certain items in the environment. Rage can then be used as a power-up for those special abilities.

10/10. A sublime effort and not to be missed. Fans of comics, X-Men, the movie for the game or action games will love this. The Uncaged Edition provides more blood and gore hence the R18 rating unlike the normal edition.

This is the way wolverine is supposed to be portrayed in a game, savage and brutal right down to his adamantium bones.

The story follows the new origins wolverine movie – but adds extra levels and parts to the story to make they game longer and more fun to play.

Gameplay has a god of war type feel to it (well did for me) you can hack and slash at enemies (including legendary x-men foes and future allies) and gain XP to upgrade wolvie's abilties & moves to make him even more lethal to his opponents.

This is definatly worth a buy if your a x-men/wolverine fan and even if your not it's worth it.
