SmackDown’s annual pay-per-view traces its lineage all the way back to 1998 when the first-ever WWE Judgment Day was held. That year, Judgment Day was held in Rosemont,Ill., and saw Stone Cold Steve Austin officiate the main event match for the vacant WWE Championship between brothers kane and Undertaker.
Since then, Judgment Day has been the site of many memorable main event matches, including the classic Triple H vs The ROCK WWE Ironman Match (2000) and Undertaker vs Hulk Hogan for the WWE Championship 2002. On Sunday May 22, Judgement Day will arrive for many of the Superstars on the SmackDown! Roster.
The balance of power shifted at WrestleMania 21 when John Cena became the new WWE Champion when he defeated JBL, who had been champ for more than nine months. Don’t miss Judgement Day to see how everything unfolds.
