Description

Two-in-one editions featuring enduring myths and legends from a variety of cultures, retold in action-packed graphic-novel style. Prepare for tales of elemental power from world mythology, featuring a story of Amaterasu (a Japanese myth) and of Yu the Great (a Chinese legend). After Amaterasu’s parents create the islands of Japan, they put their children in charge of the natural world. Amaterasu becomes the goddess of the sun. Her brother grows jealous of her position. Fearing his temper, Amaterasu hides away, plunging the world into darkness. Can the other gods lure her out and restore light to the world? Yu the Great has descended from the gods and been born from a golden dragon. But when great floods threaten China, even he will need some help. To fight the flooding, Yu will join forces with a tortoise, an owl, and a dragon—and use magic soil to plug the underwater springs causing havoc.
