Worship is not a Sunday School Book, and is not intended to be regarded as a religious publication. It contains violence, language and subject matter that could be offensve to some.
John Edward Fortson has been in and around church all his life. As a keyboard musician in the St. Louis and St. Charles County areas, he has worked in Missionary Baptist churches, Southern Baptist, Catholic, Lutheran, United Methodist, Non-Denominational Charistmatic churches, Church of God and Church of God in Christ. He likes to say he has "played around." He has seen the good, the bad, the ugly and the truly ridiculous of organized religion. He has come to know what some people hold sacred, and has seen the sacred blasphemed. The fictional Church of the Body Of Christ is a composite of all the experiences gained from such an eclectic religious and cultural music career. Although Mr. Fortson is now a pastor and makes no apologies for his faith in Christ, he warns that Worship is not a Sunday School book. It is a drama, comedy, love story and suspense--all the stuff of life.
