Author Biography

Dawn McMillan is a successful New Zealand author, having written both educational and trade publications. Her first book published by Reed, Sea Secrets, was a best seller and she has followed this up with A Fishing Story and Why do Dogs Sniff Bottoms - the Children's Choice winner in the 2003 New Zealand Post Children's Book Awards. Dawn teaches part-time at a small school on the Thames Coast. She lives with her husband Derek and their cat Mushroom. Denise Durkin is a popular New Zealand illustrator. Her last book for Reed was The Woven Flax Kete.
