Description

Meet Liz Lyon: respected TV producer, stressed-out executive, guilty single mother. StoryWorld is the nation's favourite morning show, and producer Liz Lyon wants to keep it that way. Her job is to turn real-life stories into thrilling TV – and keep a lid on the scandals and backbiting that happen off-stage. But then simmering tensions erupt at the station, trapping Liz in a game of one-upmanship where she doesn't know the rules. As the power struggle intensifies, can Liz keep her cool and keep her job? Does she even want to? In this gripping novel of power, rivalry and betrayal, Jane Lythell draws on her experiences of working in the glamorous, pressurised world of live TV. What readers are saying about WOMAN OF THE HOUR: 'I think Jane Lythell is a fabulous author and once again her novel, as with the other two, had me reading into the early hours. This is her best yet, though, and I'm already waiting impatiently for the next in the series' 'Eager to see more' 'A very entertaining and gripping read' 'There are moments to make you laugh, bring a lump to your throat and even to make your mouth water!' 'An epic storyline that runs for the majority of the book, often in the background, but just there, hitting at your conscious to be unravelled'

Author Biography:

Jane Lythell worked as a television producer and commissioning editor before becoming Deputy Director of the BFI and Chief Executive of BAFTA. This is her third novel, and the first title in the StoryWorld series.
