Stefan George and his 'circle' had a great influence on the intellectual life in Germany in the first decades of the twentieth century. Among George's followers were numerous scientists from all fields of the humanities (literary studies, ancient studies, paedagogics, science of art). In this anthology renowned experts describe and analyze the influence of noted representatives of the 'circle' upon various disciplines, e. g.
