Description

Another shore mystery in the latest book in the children's Beach Town series. In this tale, the detective team of Mike Hammer, a talking hammerhead shark, and Data Dolphin, a highly intelligent dolphin that talks too much, frantically search the town of Wildwood to try to find the strangely missing Sammy the Sea Turtle.

Author Biography:

John Leone is the author of the Sharklock Bones series of children's books. Inspired by his grandson and looking for a creative spark to his retirement, this Gloucester County, NJ author took a page from literature and a few aquarium trips to develop a compelling and humorous storyline that centers around Sharklock Bones, an aquatic detective of sorts. Based loosely on Sherlock Holmes, kids enjoy the story and puns and adults "get" the frequent references to the music and events of the 60s, 70s and 80s. "I wanted to write a book for kids from 8 to eighty," says Leone, 68, who lives in Deptford and up in Belmawr, NJ. "What's unique about this series of books is they're full of humor for kids and adults just like the Looney Tune cartoons used to be." Adults and kids are entertained by Sharklock Bones and his sidekick and also learn a little something about ocean ecology.
