Author Biography:

Roxane Gajadhar is a writer, director and producer with a love of children’s literature and passion for kids’ TV. She began her writing career as a journalist before moving into film and television production and interactive exhibition design. She also spent five years as director of international marketing for Film New Zealand/The New Zealand Film Commission. Roxane has written for two seasons of animated children’s television series ‘The Kiddets’ for Wellington’s Pukeko Pictures, has written and directed animated educational short films for the Life Education Trust (used in mobile classrooms around the country) and numerous interactive films for exhibition (The Lord of the Rings - The Exhibition, World Expo). She holds a Master’s in Creative Writing (screenwriting) from Victoria University’s prestigious International Institute of Modern Letters, completed a children’s writing workshop with well-known author Kate de Goldi and is currently completing a practical PhD with a focus on transmedia storytelling and immersive technologies (virtual, augmented and mixed reality). In 2018, she wrote her first collaborative novel. She lives in Wellington with her husband, two children, a dog and two cats.
