Having brought their esoteric funk leanings to Prince & The Revolution through their purple reign in the early 80s, Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman split to pursue their own maverick musical path in 1986. Their selftitled debut saw the duo (who won their first Emmy for the soundtrack to hit US drama ‘Nurse Jackie’) at their most creatively daring and typically eclectic – ranging from Minneapolis funk to jazz fusion and acoustic balladry.
