Description

A comprehensive guide to every Royal Sussex Regiment Battalion to serve on the Western Front during the Great War.In We Won't Be Druv Hugh Miller has created a unique and meticulously researched single-volume history of all eleven Royal Sussex Regiment Battalions to serve on the Western Front during 1914-1919. It follows the movements, highlighted events and skirmishes, battles and tragedies of which the Regiment was engaged in. Illustrated throughout with sketch maps and photographs, this book also contains the details of the men who lost their lives set within the text according to their date of death. Each of the fallen has a reference number which corresponds to a useful serially numbered alphabetical list by Battalion at the end of the book detailing where known; place of birth, enlistment, service number, rank, decorations, date and form of death, place of burial or memorial, home address and next-of-kin. Also included are details of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemeteries and memorials in Belgium, France and Germany, together with places in Great Britain containing the graves and names of Royal Sussex men.

Author Biography:
