Description

Just as the world has adopted co-ordinated alphabet systems, the same should be done with pictorial images. Because no common descriptions exist, we are constantly exposed to different pictographic images representing the same thing. There is, however, a very real need for universality. A co-ordinated, integrated, pictograph system, with specific descriptions for each image, would be recognised throughout the entire world, regardless of language and culture. This type of system will achieve true internationalism. Developed by Paul Arthur and Branimir Zlamalik, the PictograficSystems(c) contain over 570 pictograms and is possibly the largest resource of co-ordinated graphic symbols in the world. This book is based on PictograficSystems(c). The book is organised in categories and topics and contains over 1400 illustrations of pictographs and their image content descriptors, as well as a comprehensive index.
