Alex grew up in a quiet suburban neighborhood in Syracuse, New York. As a young boy, he experienced emotional, physical, and sexual abuse at the hand of his father. He graduated from high school, and was determined to make a name for himself as a singer-songwriter. After a successful gig as the opening act for a national recording artist, he and a friend decided to hit the road and head west. The ensuing adventures, provide a colorful background for this compelling tale. Once in California, Alex began to spiral out of control. The wounds from his past were catching up to him. As the story unfolds, there are miraculous events, second chances, healing and restoration. Alex's knack for telling the story, and his honest style of writing, will take you along on a journey from abuse and despair, to love and forgiveness.

Author Biography:

Alex Brown was born in Syracuse, New York. He is one of six children. Since his youth, Alex was passionate about music and writing. He learned to play the clarinet in grade school, and began playing guitar in his teens. Early on, he was inspired by singer song-writers of the sixties and seventies. Alex soon began writing his own music, performing in coffee houses and on the streets of downtown Syracuse. After a successful gig opening for Steve Goodman at Le Moyne College, he decided to head west. In California, he found the love of his life and continued to pursue his dreams. He played gigs in Hollywood at the infamous Troubadour, and previewed his songs at weekly showcases. In 2012, Alex released an EP titled Four Seasons One God. He released a new CD in 2015, titled Show Some Love. Throughout high school and college, his teachers encouraged Alex to become a writer. Waterfalls and Bridges is Alex's first book. He now lives in California with his wife of thirty eight years, Susan. They have two married adult children.
