A guidebook to 30 family walks throughout the Yorkshire Dales, England. These 30 circular walks range from 41/2 to 81/2 miles, and explore the idyllic Yorkshire Dales countryside both within and beyond the National Park. They have been selected to appeal to all tastes, and vary from simple valley strolls (ideal as family half-day rambles) to strenuous fell expeditions. Each walk has its own individual character and charm, and collectively they incorporate every type of landscape to be found in the Dales. The book is hand-written and profusely illustrated in Jack Keighley's highly distinctive style. Each chapter contains: parking information, a meticulously detailed map, concise route directions, a general description of the terrain and notes on features of interest.

Author Biography

Jack Keighley is a Lancastrian who for many years has lived in Yorkshire and has derived great pleasure from walking in the Dales- one of England's most beautiful and spectacular natural areas.
