Description

If we are fortunate enough to live to a certain age it is natural to take some time to reflect on your life, what worked, what didn't, how you handled yourself and what choices were made to cause you to end up where you are today. Regardless of how busy you are, it seems to be something that assumes some importance to you. This is an attempt by the author to chronicle this effort for himself in looking at his own life. By his own account, his life is one of an ordinary and flawed human being that has been blessed with many highs and few lows, one free of great misfortune and one rich in more ways than not. The net result of his journey is that he is convinced that he is the luckiest man alive.

Author Biography:

The author is a retired professional in his late sixties whose career was primarily in the accounting industry with an emphasis on income taxation. However, the reflections included in this book tend to deal with his personal life and experiences as he grew up and up in his family of origin and adapted himself to his role in his own family. This is his second effort at something longer than a letter, the first being a primer on how to develop a bias in your life to make saving money an integral part of it titled "Common Cents Saving". Vin considers himself the luckiest man alive and resides in beautiful Maine with Mary, his wife of 46 years. His three kids and their families, including eight grandchildren are reasonably close by and are not only a significant influence in his life, but without question a lot of the reason he took on the project of writing this book. He hopes to complete a play he has started writing and then attack a piece of fiction with what he has learned with this venture. He writes for the fun and challenge of it and if asked, he will likely offer that whatever else writing does for him, "it keeps him off the streets".
