Tria Kerkvliet emphasizes agrarian studies in Vietnam and the Philippines and is in the Department of Political and Social Change, Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies, Australian National University. Doug J. Porter is a researcher in the Department of Human Geography, Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies, Australian National University. He is an adviser to various non-governmental organizations and development agencies working with marginal rural peoples in Indo-China and the Philippines.
