Description

From the bestselling author of The Deep End of the Ocean , a moving story about the modern family and making it work second time around. It is True Dickinson's forty-third birthday and her best friends have gathered in this snowy night on Cape Cod for a celebration. She has been widowed for eight years, but she and her young son, Guy, have created their own self-sufficient little community of two. And True has her hugely successful small business, Twelve Times Blessed, her friends and, for better or worse, her mother. But as she celebrates her birthday, which just happens to fall on Valentine's Day, it seems as if everyone in the world is coupled up but her. Her stable life suddenly seems vulnerable. Then she meets a man who is perfect in every way -- except one. Hank Bannister is immediately attracted to True's beauty, her humour and, most of all, her composure. Never mind that she's ten years older than him. But the age gap seems like an eternity to True. Should she throw caution to the winds? And what will it mean for her son -- and their safe family unit? Twelve Times Blessed is the story of one extraordinary year of transformation in a woman's life. ,and of trying to reconcile the desires of the heart with the responsibiities of family life.
