Sue and Ben's woodland friends in Fairy Wood are in danger. Living on a nearby farm, they overhear the manager say that "the old wood" will have to be removed to make the fields easier to manage. How are they to warn Mr and Mrs Mole, Tommy the Toad, the Old Owl and all the fairies, pixies and gnomes, who are their friends? There isn't much time. Together, Sue and Ben must find the Wood Elders. Yet to find them, they must first follow Mr Mole underground, find a way round a big rocky troll called Kilo Gram, ride an otter across his pond and stop their animal friends worrying about Mr Sky, the fox. If only the Wood Elders can put their heads together, they may be able to choose a spell that could save the homes of the woodland folk. Oh, and if Witch Forgetful remembers to come...
