"Great book and artwork"
5 stars"

The artwork in this book is what sold it for me. Each god has a short story to read and a 2 page beautifully illustrated image. The stories themselves have been simplified, and are a great way to teach children about Greek mythology.

Description

With stunning artwork and lively and strong story-telling, this title presents Greek myths in a most accessible manner, making it a must-have addition to the family library and a sure hit for all those intrigued with the fascinating and fantastic tales of Greek mythology. Christina Balit's stunning artwork combines with Donna Jo Napoli's exquisite writing to create a beautiful volume on Greek mythology. Separated into two main sections, the volume first brings to life the stories of gods and goddesses such as Zeus, Aphrodite, Apollo, and Athena. Next readers delve into the fascinating tales of heroes and monsters including Helen of Troy, Perseus, and Medusa. All the while stunning artwork and creative, lively, and accessible storytelling will captivate them. Each section ends with profile of 'other' gods and goddesses and heroes and monsters. "NG Treasury of Greek Mythology" is sure to wow children and parents and become a keepsake title that families will return to again and again.
