Author Biography:

Adrian Kane first became active in Trade Unions in his early twenties and has worked for SIPTU as a fulltime union official since 1995. Adrian has recently been appointed as national officer with responsibility for the Transport, Energy, Aviation and Construction Division. Prior to this appointment he headed up the Union's Public Administration and Community Division where he led SIPTU's campaign for pay justice for community sector workers. Adrian is a graduate of the National College of Industrial Relations. He also attended University College Dublin and Keele University where he studied Employment Law and European Industrial relations.
