well before i played this I played cod4. And cod4 makes this look like a N64 game. Very crap game.

I don't understand how a game that looks so bad can run so poorly. Yes… bad. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what but it looks nothing like the screen shots. It's all sort of… fuzzy. Like you're looking out of a dirty window. Maybe it's just something on my end, I don't know.

I'm disappointed in how it performs also. I've got a 7800GTX and an Athlon 4600+ and I can only run the game at 1024×768 and get reasonable frame rates. But that's until I get more than a couple of guys running around then it get's quite choppy. And that's with HDR off and shadows and everything down to minimum. And no AA. There isn't any, so everything's jaggy as hell. Couple that with the fuzzyness and it's hard to see anything at a distance.

I don't understand it, I really don't.

The game itself looked pretty cool, but I didn't get very far with it.

I kid you not this game is absolutely stunning to behold. Gorgeous visuals right from the get go in the railyards and mines of Mexico through to the awesome casinos in Vegas. If you have shader model 3.0 this game is a real treat, even on my low end 6800GS I can play at 1280 by 960 and full detail and it still runs smooth as. The unreal engine looks brilliant and there are next to no loading times.

The singleplayer story is good fun and well thought out but were vegas really shines is the multiplayer action. Nothing beats the sheer fun off fragging with players all over the world inside a casino or hunting down terrorists in an office building. The use of cover and switching to 3rd person when in cover is very well done and makes the game much more interesting and being a rainbow six title you can control your team mates for some good team based action. My PC shooter of the year.

My card is a 256mb 7400 geforce,and I can only play it at 640×480 with everything at min or off,and at playable rates after tweaking the config file minimising textures etc,and overclocking. This card meets or exceeds min recommendation. Ubisoft are ringing the death bell for pc gaming IMO,not everyone can afford the very latest graphics, they are now only interested in developing console games with maybe an extremely poor quality port[GRAW,splinter cell,R6Vegas]to make a bit of additional coin. I dispute that these games have great graphics, what they do have is great lighting effects[Shader model 3?],IMO they have extremely poor textures for characters and buildings/scenes etc especially when compared to 3 year old games like HL2 which by the way looks incredible even on a minimalist system. Apart from that it is buggy [ubipatch?]you can't save where you want[as per GRAW]and looks like your looking through a car window that has had 500 cartons of cigarettes smoked in it

"Best. Rainbow Six. Ever"

Please ignore the other review, Shader Model 3.0 is standard for todays computers, and the review wasn't even based on the game itself.

Rainbow Six: Vegas is one of the best games in the series! The new system of take cover, fire, and advance isn't necessarily innovative, but it works amazingly well with the controls, and and fluidity between each animation is extremely well done. All the squad movements in the game are from motion capture, so it looks extremely lifelike. The graphics are beautiful, although the game does tend to use depth of field and motion blur a bit, but it looks great either way.

If you're considering buying the game, then you probably already know quite a bit about the game. Beautiful graphics, great gameplay, wonderful atmosphere, great tactics, and an overall polished FPS/3rdPS. Rappel down walls, set tags for your teammates to kill, and create the best and most safe way to free hostages from a bunch of angry terrorists.

Although the game specifications are high, I say if you have a Series 7 Nvidia card or higher, you'll be able to get it at playable fps and average graphics. I have a 8800GTS, so the card has full SM4.0 support (even the game itself doesn't lol). The graphics look unbelievable in game, and you can have it looking better then the 360 if you have a 8800 GTS or GTX.

So overall, if you have a good system, but it on PC, you won't regret. :)
